A phenomenal day with views stretching from The Olympics to The Cascades to Mt. Baker and, finally, to Mt. Rainier. The ladies were awake as we sailed out the channel, where Lucy took a turn at the tiller. Betty was all smiles as she ‘organized’ the sheets after Daddy trimmed the sails. After a cockpit picnic, Betty fell asleep down below, briefly waking each time as the boat tacked to a different course. Then Lucy fell asleep, so we placed her in the boat bag and tied it so she wouldn’t move with the waves. Pretty funny. For a while on the water it felt like we were on a date, just like nine years before when we’d first met. When Huck was only three.
